HOLY HOBGOBLINS

 A preacher said, “I have heard you say different things that are inconsistent.”

 The Gadfly replied, “I am glad you have noticed this.  And I thank you for affirming the health of my heart and mind.”

 The preacher said, “What do you mean?  That is not complimentary.  Inconsistency is a terrible thing.”

 The Gadfly responded, “On the contrary, the only way to be perfectly consistent is to be perfectly stagnant.”
