SYMPHONY OF SILENCE

 A preacher noticed someone sitting quietly and meditating. 

 He said, “Is this a spiritual exercise?  I have never seen anything more bereft of spiritual value in my life.  Where there is no hearing of the word of God, there is no spiritual benefit.” 

 The Gadfly said, “You are too accustomed to your own familiar stream and have associated the sound of its babbling with water.  Is the lake less wet because it is silent?”
