THE BEGGAR

 A woman said to the Gadfly, “I have heard about a wonderful medium.  He closes his eyes and goes into a deep trance, allowing the spirit of a 3,000 year old shaman to use him to communicate the shaman’s wisdom.” 

 The Gadfly said, “It is better to channel the divine yourself with eyes open, than to play the beggar to a 3,000 year old almsgiver.”
